Free tooth whitening

My husband and I have been wanting to whiten our teeth for years now. Ever since we saw the first whitening strip on a store shelf. However, with our limited budget we were unable to purchase the whitening kits. I thought we were destined to have yellow teeth forever.
Then I saw it. The cheapest (free for us) way to whiten your teeth that actually works. here's how you do it.
  1. get baking soda
  2. get peroxide (normal 3%)
  3. mix the two with a q-tip until it's like paste
  4. use the q-tip to apply the paste to your teeth.
  5. wait as long as you can, (no more than 20 minutes, I wait 10, my husband waits 5)
  6. Make sure you don't swallow the mixture
  7. Spit, then use your tooth brush and any remaining paste to brush.
  8. Rinse (i often brush with a normal toothpaste after this because I can't stand the taste left in my mouth.)
  9. then stare at your teeth, admire their whiteness!
Sure, it's not as convenient as other tooth whitening products, but it's a lot cheaper and it works for me!

Gotta have it.

I'm a pretty generic girl. I love to save money especially when it comes to buying store brand products, but there are some products that have to be name brand for me. The first one is garbage bags! forget the Walmart brand, go for glad. I can't stand pulling a full bag out of the can and having it split and having trash all over my kitchen floor. The other product I definitely need to be name brand is toilet paper! We used to go cheap name brand with Angel Soft, but I was annoyed with how fast we used up a roll- and there are just two of us using it. So we switched to Cottonelle. Now I can't stand anything but Cotonelle. There's just something about generic one ply sandpaper going across your bottom that makes me cringe.

get paid to blog

Beth told me about this, I'm sure some of you have heard about it, but you can actually get paid to blog! I started doing it last week and have already completed 14 assignments. It is a very easy way to make money, it doesn't take much time and you get to do what you love to do! Blog! After you sign up with payu2blog they will start giving you assignments. With each assignment you have a key word and a URL to link to that word. Sometimes the words are weird like colon cleanse (yes I actually had this word) other times they are simple like table cloth or pen. All you have to do is use the word in your blog and link the URL to it. The only requirement is that your blog must be 60 words or more and it has to be positive. You don't have to do the whole blog about that key word, you can just include it in your normal blog. The great part is you get paid $5 for each assignment. $5! to blog! How awesome is that?

Keeping up with Baby's Scrapbook

Keeping up with my daughters scrapbook has been impossible. Not only am I trying to make time to make sure the pages look perfect, I'm also trying to scrapbook on a budget, a tight budget. I keep putting everything off, then I'd end up with 100's of pictures that I'd be looking through trying to pick out the perfect 3 or 4. Then I'd spend hours and hours, sometimes days trying to catch up and make a bunch of pages. Finally a good friend of mine gave me a tip that has worked for me. Do one page each month- while the baby is young and you have so much to capture. That way everything is up to date and you're not looking back saying "oh no, I have a whole years worth of her life to scrapbook and no money to use!" As my daughter gets older I might not need to do a page a month, maybe a page every other month, or just her big accomplishments but I know I can't let them pile up or I'll be back in the same boat with a ton of big accomplishements that need to be scrapbooked and no time or money to get it done!

Works for me- ultimate stain remover

As a clumbsy person I always ended up ruining my shirts and clothes because I either spilled something on it, sat in something or dripped makeup on my shirts. Once I had a baby stains became an even more popular thing. Through my course of fighting with stains I asked everyone what they used to get stains out, Oxy clean, shout, bleach pen, tide to go... the list went on. I tried them all. Some seemed to work on some things and not on others, some left a strange spot where you put the stain remover on. No matter what I tried nothing worked the way I wanted it to and they were ALL too expensive for my budget.

In one last attempt to save a nice white dress shirt that I had dripped foundation on (and washed and dryed) I asked a lady at work for any advice she might have. She told me to put some dish soap on it, rub it together and soak it over night. I thought it was pointless, but tried anyway. As I pulled it out of the washer I was amazed. The make up was gone! I couldn't believe it. I tried it on some other clothes that had set in stains... the same thing happened. Throughout this year my daughter has created MANY stains on my clothes and hers. I've learned one thing, don't bother with the expensive stain removers that don't work Just use Dish soap! If you catch the stain before you wash and dry it you don't even have to soak it in warm water, you can just put the dish soap on it and rub it together then throw it in the wash. It works wonders!

Works For Me Wednesday: Bye-Bye Boo-boo

My friend Beth got me interested in The Works for Me Wednesday from Rocks in My Dryer, I thought this was a perfect week to jump in. My daughter will be a year old tomorrow, so I don't have years and years of experience and knowledge built up. However, it doesn't take long being a mom before you learn a thing or two. The little bit of advice I have to offer started before my years of of parenthood when I was just an aunt, but worked today when my daughter hit her head.
When a tumbling toddler bumps into a door frame, or clunks their head off the corner of a table try blaming the table! We "spank" the object that caused the injury and say "bad table!" or "bad door!" More times than not the reaction is smiles. Say bye-bye Boo-Boo and good morning giggle!
